The Children's Choir of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in
San Leandro, California was founded in September 2004,
formed by Gloria Garcia, the Director and Pianist
and Esperanza E. De Castro, Conductor.
It’s main objective is to instill in the children,
ages 6-14 years, a love for Liturgy music as well as
worship songs of praise to the Lord!
The choir provides music lessons to musically inclined
children and prepare them for a future ministry in the church,
and train them to be future leaders and active church
workers.
The choir encourages participation and development of talents
inherent in the members like cantoring, piano, and other musical
instruments
They made their First musical debut in January 1, 2004 and
sings every 3rd Sundays of each month in the OLGC 11:00 AM mass.
They are a feature participant for the past years musical
concert and the OLGC Church Christmas Pageant.

Director and accompanist of the OLGC Choir for the 5:00 PM mass
every Saturday and 8:30 AM mass every Sunday. Organist at Our
Lady Of Peace Church in Santa Clara every Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
Esperanza E. De Castro(Espie) –Conductor
Chairman of the Music Ministry of the OLGC is also a member of
the Pastoral Committee.
She is a soloist of the Filipino Cursillo Choir of the Archdiocese
of Oakland, CA .
She took voice lessons in the Philippines under the tutelage of
Maestra Mercedes Matias Santiago and has performed at the Cultural
Center of the Philippines and Philamlife auditorium.
After migration to the US in 1991, she continued voice lessons
at the Amadeus School of Music in San Pablo , CA.
She sings with the 8:30 am Sunday Choir of OLGC every Sunday.
Engr. Salvador C. De Castro is the loving husband of
Espie De Castro. He is the technical support behind the choir.
He is a member of the Eucharistic Ministry group of the OLGC
and a member of the Filipino Cursillo Choir of the Diocese of
Oakland . He also sings at the 8:30 am Choir on Sundays.
