Louella Albornoz (Tita Benny)

Louella Albornoz is a veteran of Filipino entertainment in late seventies and early 80s working with Philippine greats Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Lino Brocka, Maryo J de los Reyes, Tito, Vic and Joey, Bernardo Bernardo and the list goes on and on. Louella has done her time in showbiz as an actress host. But she took a short hiatus from showbiz to pursue her own American dream. Four boys, and a few years as an on-call librarian later, Louella is back on the scene, getting a second surge in her career and stumbling into the spotlight alongside the Black Eyed Peas as the controversial Mom in Patricio Ginelsa’s “BEBOT: Generation 2”, and as ABS-CBN’s MYX Mama. She just had a brief “Maalaala Mo Kaya” appearance opposite Sam Milby. And now with a special appearance in Amerikana, Louella gets to grace the stage and share her vocal talents with the world. Louella is a graduate of Assumption Convent, but she never did turn out to be a nun. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts from Maryknoll College. She went on to marry Student Canteen’s Andrew Angeles, and had four boys. Her eldest, Stephen is daily television as a reporter for The Filipino Channel’s Balitang America.
